
Lorraine Kay Butler Pillow, age 70 of Adrian, formerly of Clayton and Elkton, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the home of her sister. She was born on September 30, 1955, in St. Clair, the daughter of Ralph Otis and Alice Mae (Rankin) Butler, III.
Lorraine graduated from Marysville High School, then Adrian College with a bachelor’s degree in education and earned her master’s degree in English from Michigan State University. She married Rev. Craig A. Pillow on August 9, 1980, at the Morenci United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2017. Lorraine taught at Morenci Elementary Schools for 29 years and later at Pigeon First United Methodist Church as a secretary in her retirement. She was very active in church ministry with her husband leading youth groups and vacation bible school at Morenci, Clayton, Rollin Center, Elkton and Pigeon First United Methodist Church. Her tireless dedication to youth in education and spiritual ministry is going to be dearly missed.
Surviving Lorraine are her two sons, Wesley Pillow and Vance (Jaime Henning) Pillow; brothers and sisters, Ralph (Elizabeth) Butler,IV, Carolyn Butler, Beverly (Glenn) Davis, Brinton Butler and George (Teri) Butler; sister-in-law, Sara Pillow and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her brother, Art Butler and sister, Barbara (Jack) Lansing, brother and sister-in-laws, Robert Pillow, Jeraine (Robert) Thompson, Doreen (Robert) Romzek, Donna (Draper) Collins, Fred Draper and Edward Collins.
Funeral Services for Lorraine will held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian with Pastor Jackie Roe officiating. Burial will follow at North Dover Cemetery, Clayton. Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2026, at the funeral home.
