FAIRFIELD TWP — A serious injury crash at Horton Road and Lyons Highway in Fairfield Township sent three people to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies responded at 4:48 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection. Investigators say a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling eastbound on Horton Road failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection, where it was struck by a northbound 2006 Subaru Forester on Lyons Highway.

The Jeep was driven by a 26-year-old man from the Clinton area and carried a 5-year-old passenger. Both were transported to Toledo Hospital in critical condition. The Subaru driver, a 23-year-old man from the Adrian area, was also taken to Toledo Hospital in critical condition. Seat belt use is unknown, and drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors.

The Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate. Assistance was provided by multiple local agencies.
