
ADRIAN — Lenawee Christian School will host the U.S. Department of Education’s History Rocks Tour Thursday as part of a national effort recognizing excellence in civics education ahead of the country’s 250th anniversary of independence.
The History Rocks Tour program begins at 12:55 p.m. inside The Centre Auditorium in Adrian. Media check-in will take place in the Merillat Room.
According to event organizers, the program will feature remarks from historian Dr. Gleaves Whitney, former executive director of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation and Museum in Grand Rapids. The President of Hillsdale College will also be in attendance. Secondary students will participate in portions of the program.
Lenawee Christian Ministries Director of Marketing and Communications Meghan Abbee-Loubert said the event is focused on civic literacy and the historical foundations of the United States.
A press gaggle with speakers will follow the approximately one-hour program.
Lenawee Christian School will distribute a local press release with photos and highlights following the event.
