ADRIAN — The Adrian Downtown Development Authority Board has approved the termination of Main Street Director Jay Marks.
The vote happened Wednesday during the board’s regular meeting.
Board members added an agenda item to discuss the employment agreement and then moved to exercise the at-will provision in the contract.
City Administrator Chad confirmed the motion meant immediate termination and said the action was within contract limits and supported by the city.
The vote passed by roll call with one dissenting vote.
No detailed reasoning was discussed publicly during the meeting.
Marks will receive a three-month severance as outlined in the 2022 employment agreement.
The board tabled remaining agenda items and will revisit business at its next scheduled meeting.
