ADRIAN — Jury selection continues today in the murder trial of Dale Warner, with the focus now shifting from bias to endurance as the pool slowly narrows.

As of late Tuesday afternoon, 69 prospective jurors had advanced through initial screening.

Court resumed this morning with approximately 55 jurors remaining in the active pool.

Beginning around 10:30 a.m., prospective jurors were individually questioned, with six cleared to move forward during that session by noon.

Following the lunch recess, the pool expanded to approximately 75 prospective jurors, as additional panels were brought in. Of those questioned this afternoon, 7 jurors moved forward, bringing the total to 82 potential jurors in the pool.

Several others were dismissed after acknowledging firm opinions about the case, significant work or financial hardship, or prior exposure to advocacy surrounding the case.

With round two of jury selection scheduled for next week, the court remains on pace to narrow the pool toward the target group for the next phase of voir dire (V-wah deer).

Jury selection will continue as the court works toward seating a full panel before opening statements.
