
Barbara L. Pifer Dohm Greene, 92 of Adrian, was promoted to Glory, Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Born March 28, 1933, in Adrian to Aldun D. Pifer and Ruby (Mavis) Pifer, she was the eighth of their ten children, and the last surviving.
On November 19, 1951, she was married to Gerald Dohm and this union was blessed with two children, Gregory and Charon.
On May 27, 1995, she was united in marriage to James A. Greene and welcomed his four children, James “Mickey”, Ronnie, Bobby and Lanette, as her own.
Barbara started work at a very young age at Curtis Poultry, Family Theater, and A & W Root Beer Drive Inn. After marriage, she worked at Oro Manufacturing for 11 years till they moved. She then worked at Adrian Manufacturing, Bidwell Manufacturing, Weirick A.F.C. Home, and Stevenson Home. She retired from St. Joseph Church in Adrian. Her last 9 years she took care of special lady Mrs. Frances Sowers.
She is survived by her children Greg (Gail) Dohm and Charon Dohm Welsh; stepchildren, James (Jeanie) Greene, Ronnie (Kay) Greene, Bobby (Pam) Greene and Lanette (Johnny) Justice, as well as 13 grand, 31 great and 12 great-great grandchildren. She was called Granny Barb, Grandma or Mamaw by many. At Christmas time the children all looked forward to her cookies and pies.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband James, parents, five sisters, Thelma Harwick, Fay Morton, Lois Marvin, Lola Wooster and Ruby Cox, brothers, infant baby, Aldun Jr., Marvin, and Howard Pifer; and grandsons Brandan Jordan, James Herron Jr. and great grandson Joseph Paulding.
Funeral services will take place Saturday, February 7, 2026, at noon, at Wagley Funeral Home – Adrian, with her nephew, Pastor David Morton and Pastor Garry Ferguson officiating. Barbara’s family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10am until the beginning of the service at noon.
Contributions in memory of Barbara may be directed to the family for future designation.
