
Virginia Sue Kelley, age 82, of Tecumseh, Michigan, passed away
peacefully on January 20, 2026. Sue was born on February 4, 1943,
daughter of Ernest Martin and Loubelle (Hooper) Martin in Franklin,
Tennessee.
Sue met and fell in love with John L. Kelley in Hastings,
Michigan, and the two were married on July 21, 1962.
A devoted wife, proud mother, and adoring grandmother, Sue cherished her
family and friends above all else. Her warmth and quiet strength left a
lasting impression on all who knew her. Sue will be remembered as a
loving and resilient woman with a kind and generous heart, a beautiful
smile, and a wonderful sense of humor. She was deeply loved by her family
and friends and will be missed more than words can express.
Sue was employed as an assistant chemist at Wacker Silicones for her
long and dedicated career, retiring after many years of service, while also
working evenings and weekends at the Country House restaurant, teaching
aerobics classes at the Tecumseh Community Center, and volunteering at
the Tecumseh Civic Auditorium. Through her work, she built lasting
friendships and earned the respect and admiration of coworkers and
community members alike.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Loubelle Martin; her
husband, John Kelley; her brother, Farris Martin; brother and sister-in-law,
Bob and Linda Martin; and brothers-in-law, Harold Tyner, David Kelley, and
Michael Kelley.
Sue is survived by her son, Randy (Rita) Kelley of Adrian, Michigan;
daughter, Tammi (Sam) McCarley of Adrian, Michigan; grandson, Brian
Kelley of Adrian, Michigan; sister, Vera Tyner of Bolivar, Tennessee;
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Peggy Martin of Franklin, Tennessee,
Roger (Gloria) Kelley of Hastings, Michigan, Patricia Kelley of Hastings,
Michigan, Sandra Kelley of Easton, Pennsylvania, and Kathy (David) Piehl
of Grayling, Michigan; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended
family members who loved her dearly.
Cremation has taken place per Sue’s wishes. Interment of cremains will be
held at Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh, Michigan at a later date with
immediate family present.
A celebration of Sue’s life will be planned in the coming months. Family and

Memorial contributions may be made in Sue’s name to the American
Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
Arrangements have been made with the guidance of Purse & Son Funeral Home,
Tecumseh, Michigan.
