ADRIAN — The Adrian Public Schools Board of Education has approved a resolution placing a 0.65-mill bond proposal on the May 2026 ballot.
If approved by voters, the bond would fund construction of a new Community Recreational Facility adjacent to Adrian High School, along with updates to the Julianne and George Argyros Performing Arts Center.
District officials say the proposed facility would provide year-round indoor space for health and wellness activities, including walking tracks, basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and tennis courts, along with space for youth recreation programs and school athletics.
The bond would also cover upgrades to the performing arts center, including seating, lighting, carpeting, and other furnishings used by students and community groups across the district.
The proposal would raise an estimated $27.5 million over 21 years. For a home valued at $200,000, the projected tax impact is about $65 per year.
Voters within the Adrian Public Schools district will decide the proposal in May. The district plans to hold multiple bond information meetings beginning in February.
