Peter D. Carr, age 78, transitioned into heaven Sunday, January 18, 2026, at his home, under the compassionate care of Hospice of Lenawee.
Peter was born on March 17, 1947, in Munising, MI. A very proud United States Army veteran he served his country honorably as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. During his service in Vietnam, Peter was awarded the Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal V device for heroism.
Following his military service, Peter worked at Ford Motor Company plant Saline Michigan 32 1/2 years before retiring in 1998.
Peter is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Esther, their four children Chris, Rod (Deana) Casarez, Mary Ann (Mike) Lewis, and Jim (Danielle) Casarez. Nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Siblings, Joan Anderson, John (Connie) Carr, and Sue Carr.
Honoring Peter’s wishes, his body has been donated to the University of Michigan for medical research.
