Tecumseh City Council meeting preview

TECUMSEH — The Tecumseh City Council will meet Tuesday, January 20, at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, with several recognitions and routine business items on the agenda.

Council members will begin the meeting with a presentation of the 2026 Tecumseh Community Martin Luther King Jr. Spirit Award. This year’s award will be presented to Macy Schmidt in recognition of her community service and commitment to inclusion.

The council will also receive the city manager’s report, which includes updates on parks and recreation usage and recent financial recognition awarded to the city by the Government Finance Officers Association.

Several items are scheduled under the consent agenda, including approval of past meeting minutes, budget and treasurer reports, and monthly updates from the police and fire departments.

New business includes approval of the city’s January bill payments, a farming lease agreement with Hewlett Farms, a traffic control order for Red Maple Drive, the 2025 Planning Commission annual report, and a request for the 2026 Classic Car and Bike Show series.

Public comment will be accepted during the meeting.
