ADRIAN — The Lenawee County Planning Commission has begun a comprehensive overhaul of the county’s master plan, a document that guides long-term land use and development decisions.
Commission members are currently reviewing township zoning and land-use changes, including recently approved recommendations affecting Raisin Township, Clinton Township, and other areas across the county.
Officials say the effort is focused on updating policies that no longer reflect current development patterns, infrastructure needs, or township planning priorities.
As part of the process, the Planning Commission will conduct monthly master plan updates throughout 2026, allowing for ongoing review and revisions rather than a single, large rewrite.
The goal is to modernize the county’s planning framework while maintaining coordination with local townships and existing zoning regulations.
Commissioners say the updated master plan will serve as a long-term reference for growth, infrastructure planning, and land-use decisions across Lenawee County.
Further updates and recommendations will be brought forward as the review continues this year.
