
Walter Martin Williams, age 76, of Adrian, died early Saturday morning, January 10, 2026, at Lynwood Manor under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. Born June 16, 1949, in Toledo, he was the son of the late Roger and Catherine (Strassner) Williams. Walter grew up in Ogden Center and graduated from Blissfield High School with the Class of 1967.
Following high school Walter worked at the former GM Fisher Body plant in Adrian before embarking in an entrepreneurial leap and starting Williams Insulation, Inc. in 1977, which he has operated on his property south of Adrian ever since. Walter was a staunch supporter of his community, being civically involved and generously contributing monetarily to several local organizations, including Civitan of Lenawee and the founding of the Hope Center, the Salvation Army Adrian Corps, Hidden Lake Gardens, Lenawee County 4-H and Fairgrounds, Lenawee Humane Society and more recently the Boys & Girls Club of Lenawee and the Croswell Opera House. Walter traveled to many vacation destinations including abroad over the years and was a lifelong sports car enthusiast, but was most content in taking good care of his home and his extensive Hosta gardens.
Surviving are four daughters, Kimberly Young of Crystal River, FL, Wendee (Matthew) Bohn of Adrian, Amy (Greg) Dugan of Lantana, TX, and Kristine Francoeur of FL; a sister, Sandra (David) Barkman of Chelsea; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. Private burial will take place in the Ridgeville Cemetery in Fairfield Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Walter are suggested to benefit the Lenawee Humane Society. Arrangements have been made with the guidance of the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian.
