Esther Marie McNair, age 94, of Adrian formerly of Clayton, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Hospice of Lenawee. Esther was born on August 1, 1931, to Albert and Mabel (Harris) Teske in Tecumseh, Michigan. Esther attended Hudson Area Schools and later graduated from Elite Beauty Academy as a cosmetologist and instructor. Along with teaching at Elite Beauty Academy, she managed the Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio and Salon. She retired in 1990.
On October 9, 1948, in Clayton, Michigan, Esther married the love of her life Ronald McNair at his family’s farm. Ron and Esther spent 63 years together until his passing in 2011. Esther was a Girl Scout Leader in Clayton for many years. Volunteer for over 25 years for Bixby Hospital Auxiliary. A member of the Clayton Extension Club, and the Hitch Up and Go Camping Club. Esther spent over 35 winters in the Sarasota Bay RV Resort in Bradenton, Florida, where she was active in many clubs and activities.
Esther is survived by her daughters, Jane (David Pohl) Neilson of Onsted, and Julie (Rick) McCormick of Adrian, grandson Wesley McCormick, and a great-granddaughter, Kinsley Marie McCormick. Esther is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald, her parents, siblings, Robert Teske, Richard Teske, Roger Hall, Norma (Teske) Byers and Louella Hall, stepfather, Harold Hall, son-in-law, Chris Neilson, and close friend Donald Kerr of Hudson.
Visitation for Esther will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home – Adrian from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Burial will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Adrian.
