Charlotte Ellen (Henricks) Wilt, age 88, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, at her granddaughter’s home where she was surrounded in love.

Born November 25, 1937, Charlotte grew up in Palmyra, Michigan. On March 31, 1957, she married the love of her life, John Wilt, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and community. Charlotte’s primary “career” was raising her six children-a role she embraced with endless patience and open heart. Later, she brought that same welcoming spirit to the students and staff at Adrian College, where she worked in the cafeteria until her retirement in the early 2000s.

Charlotte was a devoted fan of the Michigan Wolverines and her beloved Detroit Tigers. She also loved to dance and sing to country greats like Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. Her home was a place where everyone was welcome, and she took immense pride in the noisy, happy gatherings of her large family and many friends.

Charlotte is survived by her brother, Bernard Henricks; her children, Kathy Wilt of Sarasota, FL, Bruce (Sheri) Wilt of Adrian, Ken (Lydia) Wilt of Tecumseh, and Barb (Tracey Miller) Czmer. Charlotte’s legacy lives on through her eleven grandchildren: Amanda Wilt, Garrett Marks-Wilt, Jesse Wilt, Jake (Jessica) Czmer, Lauren (Carter) Docking, Jeremy Wilt, Anthony (Rosa) Wilt, Alex Wilt, Martika (Tiffany) Wilt, Lucas Wilt, and Claire (Dan) Simpson; as well as ten great-grandchildren.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and one sister in infancy; her husband, John; and two of her sons, Dan and Steve.

At Charlotte’s request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service and the interment of cremains is being planned for a future date.
