MICHIGAN — Even after Christmas, the push to “buy American” is still in the spotlight, and a new online guide is pointing shoppers straight to Michigan-made options.
The Alliance for American Manufacturing has released its 12th annual Made in America Holiday Gift Guide, featuring American-made gift ideas.
This year’s guide is built around new additions only, companies that have not appeared in previous editions, mixing heritage brands with newer makers and a wide range of price points. The guide is organized by product category, and it can also be browsed by state.
A new section also highlights in-person shopping, listing stores that specialize in locally made goods, including several in Michigan.
The guide is designed to help shoppers identify where products are made, especially when that information is not clearly listed by online retailers. It also highlights brick-and-mortar stores that specialize in locally made goods.
The guide features 148 manufacturers from all 50 states, offering items that range from small household goods to specialty products.
