Rick Sheets, age 73, went to be with our Lord and Savior on December 11, 2025, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Monroe, MI and attended Monroe Public Schools and Catholic Central. He later enlisted in the Michigan National Guard, attaining the rank of Staff Seargent E6, and was honorably discharged in October 1977. He was a longtime resident of Lambertville, MI.  Rick was an extremely hard worker all his life. He worked at Consolidated Paper as a finisher and back-tender, Smurfit Paper Co, and retired from Midwest Environmental Control after 34 years, where he was the operations manager. In his later years, his playful personality shone through with his family and friends, as he loved to joke and make people laugh. His generous spirit led him to donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and he frequently bought and donated food to a food pantry.  He was an accomplished guitarist and said that when he saw the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan show in 1964, he knew he wanted to play music, specifically the electric guitar. He played in numerous bands around the tri-state area, as well as worship team at his church. He also joined a band that went to various prisons to play and minister to prisoners.  Rick loved his wife Lisa with everything in him. They celebrated their 40th anniversary just 4 days before his death. He leaves behind his wife, Lisa, son Richard J Sheets, daughter Krissy L (Alex) Kisov, son Michael D Crummel, grandchildren whom he adored, Gabriel Crummel, Jude Crummel, Levi Kisov, and Lexi Kisov. He is also survived by his brother, Bill (Barb) Sheets. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Sheets, and brother James Sheets.  Please help the family celebrate his life on December 21st at Bedford Alliance Church 8645 Jackman Rd. Temperance MI at 3:00 p.m., where Pastor Brad Wotring from Community House Church in Toledo, OH will officiate. Family visitation will be from 1:30 to 2. The public is welcome from 2-3. After the service, we will gather to share memories and stories about him. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place.
