TECUMSEH — The Tecumseh City Commission has approved an agreement with engineering firm Tetra Tech for upgrades at the city’s wastewater treatment plant.
The agreement allows Tetra Tech to oversee planning and bidding for the replacement of four air-actuated valves and two motor control center electrical panels at the facility.
City officials say the project will replace outdated equipment, some of which is more than fifty years old, including electrical panels with components that are no longer available.
The upgrades are designed to improve energy efficiency, system reliability and maintenance at the wastewater treatment plant by converting older air-actuated valves to modern motor-controlled systems.
The consulting agreement is budgeted at $14,700 and includes updating existing engineered plans and managing the bid process.
