Dianne Louise Nagypaul, age 64, of Riga, died Thursday afternoon, December 11, 2025, at ProMedica Flower Hospital following recent health complications. Born March 1, 1961, in Bowling Green, OH, she was the oldest of four daughters of the late Donald and Lois (Green) Carpenter.

Dianne grew up in Burgoon, OH, and was a 1979 graduate of Lakota High School, before obtaining an accounting degree from Owens Technical Institute. Having a compassionate heart, Dianne was a lifelong caregiver, selflessly always putting the needs of others before her own. Early in her healthcare career, she worked in hospice and at area nursing homes prior to pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Lourde’s College in 2010 and becoming a Registered Nurse. She worked for Toledo Hospital for nearly 30 years before her retirement in 2020.

Dianne married Ronald L. “Skip” Nagypaul on June 24, 1995, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Toledo. They recently celebrated 30 years of cherished memories together. Dianne and Skip were recently attending Elem3nt Church in Blissfield.

A survivor of ovarian cancer, Dianne was a strong advocate for detection and treatment, and participated in and planned several walking events in Toledo. She enjoyed belonging to various Buick and Oldsmobile clubs, traveling the area with Skip to showcase their cars. She enjoyed swimming in her pool in the summertime and was a lifelong animal lover, especially her pet cats. Shopping was one of her favorite pastimes, and she always enjoyed trips to Shipshewana, IN to patronize the local shops. She enjoyed her beautiful gladiola flower gardens and was an excellent baker. Unable to indulge for health reasons, she generously shared her delectable treats with others. Recently in life she embraced the title of grandmother, and adored her four grandchildren. Dianne’s vivacious and caring presence in this world will be greatly missed.

Surviving to mourn her loss in addition to her husband, Skip, is her daughter, Shawna (Graham) Dean of Montrose, MI; two sisters, Sandy (David) Rollins of Howard Lake, MN and Marianne Carpenter of Maumee, OH; her four grandchildren, Stephanie (Travis) and Christian Lokinski and Sofia and Cade Dean; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister in infancy, Susan Carpenter.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the Marry Funeral Home, Blissfield, on Monday, December 15, 2025, from 2-7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Tuesday, December, 16, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Barry Burns will officiate. Burial will follow in Riga Cemetery.
