TECUMSEH — The Tecumseh Public Schools Operations Department shared an update on the future of the Tecumseh Community Memorial Pool during Monday night’s school board meeting.
The board heard from the school’s Director of Operations, Joshua Mattison, as well as Aaron Phillips of the construction company McCarthy & Smith and George Kacan of Wightman Architecture. Last year, Tecumseh voters approved a sinking fund, which would finance the repair of the pool’s
roof, but an equipment failure in April led to the pool’s closure for the entire spring and summer seasons.
In Mattison’s last report to the board on November 24th, he stated that the pool should remain closed to the public and that the building’s steel framing needed to be replaced entirely due to corrosion.
WLEN News spoke with Mattison, who broke down the possible options for the pool moving forward…
