ADRIAN — Lenawee County reports solid balances across several major capital funds as officials prepare for the 2026 fiscal year.
A financial update presented to the Physical Resources Committee shows the Building and Site capital fund ending the year with nearly $1.4 million available for future county projects, after covering multiple facility improvements and equipment upgrades.
The county’s Capital Contingency fund remains the largest reserve, with approximately $8.1 million available, providing flexibility for major infrastructure needs and unplanned capital expenses.
The Sheriff’s vehicle capital fund also remains in stable condition, with a balance of about $79,600, following vehicle purchases and insurance reimbursements completed earlier this year.
Officials said the balances reflect planned spending tied to the county’s capital improvement schedule, rather than delayed projects or unallocated funds.
Committee members received the reports without requesting additional action.
County administrators expect capital planning discussions to continue into early 2026 as departments bring forward new equipment and facility requests.
