MORENCI — The City of Morenci has officially appointed Nathan Adams as its next chief of police.
Adams was sworn in during the November 10 City Council meeting and has completed his onboarding process. He will assume full command of the Morenci Police Department on January 1.
Current Chief Michael Creswell will shift into a part-time deputy chief role at that time to assist with the leadership transition.
Adams brings 33 years of law enforcement experience, including work with the Ypsilanti City Police Department and more than 22 years with the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office, where he retired as a sergeant in 2022.
He has served with the Morenci Police Department for the past three years and most recently worked as a bailiff in the Lenawee County courts.
City officials say they look forward to Adams’ leadership and his continued service to the Morenci community.
