Christopher James “CJ” Karpinski, age 42, of Petersburg, died Sunday, November 30, 2025, at his home while under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. Born November 12, 1983, in Toledo, OH, he was the youngest son of Stan and Joyce (Mack) Karpinski.
Born with a congenital heart condition, CJ endured many health complications and setbacks in life, but remained steadfast and fun-loving throughout. He proudly earned a Special Education from Mason Consolidated Schools in 2001. For years, CJ worked in the stables at St. Isidore Farm, LLC, in Monroe. He also worked on his 1 ½ acre family “farm”, where he kept the yard meticulously mowed, picked flowers and vegetables, and enjoyed driving tractor.
Catholic by faith, CJ received his Sacraments from St. Anthony Parish in Temperance and was currently a parishioner at Light of Christ Parish, St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Deerfield. He admired farm equipment in addition to F16 fighter jets, and had a vast collection of models of both which he helped build. He loved the simple comforts of just being at home, and adored his brothers. With his outgoing personality, he never knew a stranger, and will be missed by many who were fortunate to know him.
Surviving in addition to his parents of Petersburg, are his three brothers, Matthew (Alison) Karpinski of Petersburg, Michael (Megan) Karpinski of Blissfield, and Ben Rumler of Petersburg; his five nephews and nieces; Tyler, Lane, Brayden, Trevor and Chase; and numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family members.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the Marry Funeral Home in Blissfield on Thursday, December 4, 2025, beginning at 3:00 p.m. and concluding with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass for the soul of CJ will be celebrated by Father Jeffrey Poll on Friday, December 5, at 11:00 a.m. at Light of Christ Parish, St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Deerfield. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in honor of CJ can be made to benefit St. Isidore Farm, LLC. Arrangements have been made with the guidance of the Marry Funeral Home, Blissfield.
