TECUMSEH — Tecumseh trumpet player Richard Harris has released a new Christmas album titled “Silent Night — The Music of Christmas,” performed with The Michigan Brass Choir.

Harris experienced severe chest pain in October and underwent emergency open-heart surgery. He said doctors told him he would not survive the night without the operation. Just before being hospitalized, he finalized production of the album, allowing it to be manufactured during his recovery.

The album features 22 traditional Christmas pieces performed by a brass quintet, including Harris, his nephew Nick Bunio, and three additional musicians.

This is his fourth Christmas album. Harris has used proceeds from earlier recordings to support research and future music projects.

“Silent Night” is now available in digital and physical formats at richardharrislive.com.

Harris also offers Christmas performances through local ensembles.
