LANSING — The Michigan State Police partnered with Kroger this week to deliver 200 full Thanksgiving dinners to families across central and southeast Michigan.
Each meal kit included a turkey and traditional sides, providing enough food for 4 to 6 people. Deliveries were made by troopers from the Lansing, Jackson, Monroe, Brighton, Metro North, Metro South, Flint, Lapeer, and Tri-City posts.
Recipients were identified through MSP community service troopers working with local schools and service organizations.
According to the department, the program has distributed more than 1,800 meals over the past 9 years through this ongoing partnership, supporting families who may otherwise struggle over the holiday.
State Police leadership said participating in the deliveries has become a meaningful annual tradition focused on community service.
The meals were distributed ahead of Thanksgiving.
