
Rosemary Russell, age 96, of Jonesville, formerly of Pittsford, Addison and Hanover, passed away on November 23, 2025, at Claudia’s Glen, Hillsdale County Medical Care. She was born November 8, 1929, in Pittsford, MI, to Charles E. and Gladys C. (Peterson) VanBuskirk. She married Estel F. Russell on July 27, 1946, in Angola, IN.
Rosemary grew up in Pittsford, lived in Addison for 25 years, then in the Hanover area for 15 years, then moved to Jonesville in 2001. While living in Addison she worked as a receptionist at the Addison Hospital and then as a receptionist for Dr. Jack Hinkle. When her husband retired in 1992, they began wintering in Arizona. She loved playing cards and cribbage with family and friends.
Surviving are one son, Gary E. Russell of Lapeer, two daughters, Ginger (Jerry) Gilmore of Jonesville, Gale (Angus Jr.) Kittle of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Gary W. Russell of Birmingham, AL, Alan (Lisa) Russell of Davison, Mark (Lissa) Gilmore of Holland, and Holly (Dave) Loader of Hillsdale; four great-grandchildren, Lauren (Rodney Fuller) Russell of Lapeer, Mallori (Gabe) Parish of Davison, Jonah Gilmore of Holland, and Carson Loader of Hillsdale.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, five sisters, husband, son Gregory F. Russell, and g-great-grandson Marshall Fuller.
Cremation will take place. Remains will be interred at Woodstock (Sanford) Cemetery, Addison, together with her husband and her loved dog Suzie.
