ADRIAN — The preliminary hearing for John Skelton has been postponed to allow additional time for attorneys to review case materials.
During Monday’s proceeding, the court granted a request from the Public Defender’s Office to adjourn the case until December 17th at 1 p.m., citing large volumes of discovery.
Skelton appeared remotely with his attorney.
The judge noted the preliminary examination could take up to two weeks once scheduled. Due to the holiday calendar, no dates beyond December 17th were set. A 21-day waiver was accepted to permit the delay.
The case is expected to be revisited December 17th, when scheduling for the full preliminary exam will be determined.
