ADRIAN — The Lenawee Humane Society is using its November Hometown Hope recognition to remind residents that its mission extends beyond animal care.

During an interview with WLEN, Executive Director Marci Cornell explained that while most people associate the Humane Society with pet adoption, the organization also provides services to support people in crisis, including a pet food bank and assistance for individuals facing homelessness or domestic violence situations.

The Lenawee Humane Society operates without local government funding and relies entirely on donations, especially during Giving Tuesday and year-end support.

More information is available at LenHumaneSoc.org and at their facility on West Beecher Street in Adrian.
