LENAWEE CO. — Veterans across Michigan can sign up now for free Thanksgiving meal boxes through the Harvest for Heroes program.
The statewide event is hosted by VETLIFE in partnership with Kroger. Meal pickup takes place Friday, November 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at locations in Detroit and Howell. Each boxed meal includes a turkey and traditional holiday sides.
VETLIFE notes the effort is part of a broader initiative to support veteran families and expand access to food, benefits, and community resources. Information on eligibility, pickup details, and the Battle Buddy App is available at vetlifetoday.org.
For veterans in Lenawee County, a separate Thanksgiving basket distribution is also available.
Pickup will be held Tuesday, November 25, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at American Legion Post 97 in Adrian. The program provides a boneless turkey breast and traditional meal items for eligible veteran households.
