ADRIAN — The city of Adrian is making changes to this year’s Christmas parade and tree lighting to improve safety and traffic flow.

The parade will return to its traditional courthouse lineup, but its route will no longer end at Comstock Park. Instead, the parade will begin at the Lenawee County Courthouse at 5 p.m., step off at 6, and travel down Main Street to Church Street before looping back up Winter Street to the courthouse.

The tree lighting ceremony will now take place at 8 p.m. at Comstock Park. City staff and Main Street organizers say the updated timing creates a buffer between the parade and the ceremony and reduces long wait periods for families.

Entertainment is scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m. on the main stage at the park, followed by Santa’s arrival at the gazebo at 8.
