On November 6, 2025 Mary Elizabeth Dalton, age 91, of Adrian Michigan went home to be with her Lord and Savior at Lenawee Medical Care Facility with family by her side.

She was born on September 6, 1934, in Allegree, Kentucky, to Thomas and Daisey (Blake) Law.

As a child Mary attended Deerfield schools where she graduated in 1952.

On November 13, 1954 she was married to Ray Dalton. Together they had 3 children; Cynthia, Tom, and Deanna,, a bonus child, Patti Mae , one foster child Lorie Simpson and special nephew who spent summers with us , Paul.

Mary retired from Merillat Cabinets in January, 2000, after 27 years of employment.  Merillat was not just a job, but a place that she made friends,(Pammie) that soon became family.

She was a member of the North Rome Baptist Church, where she brought the rolls every Sunday. She might also be found at Jasper bible church sneaking Pastor Bruce a snickers bar before a service. Mary’s love for the Lord and her family was her everything and she let everyone know it.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the joy of her life.  Mary had a huge heart for children.  Her love for kids would be hard for most to match, all were welcome, and all were special to her. Mary not only raised her own kids, but, a few others.   She also babysat and helped raise most of her grandkids, and even into her late 80’s she continued that streak by babysitting her great grandchildren. Her helping hand always threw in doing the dishes, the laundry and maybe even some ironing for the parents.

In Mary’s house you never went hungry, it was a common sight to see her with a child on the hip, phone in the ear, stirring a pot on the stove all while still entertaining her company with coffee and donuts.  Oh not to mention, you would most likely hear the Detroit Pistons playing in the background.  There was always laughter and love filling her home, and conversations/ visits that she never wanted to end.  That was Mary.

Michigan was Mary’s home, but her roots were in Kentucky.  She was a regular at the family reunions and always looked forward to the next visit.  With a love for travel, she saw a lot in her ninety one years.  Some of her favorites were the annual Kentucky Derby, Alaska, Hawaii, and many trips camping. She was scared to death of water and didn’t swim but loved her cruises. There was never a place she would visit without making a new friend and lasting memories. She always looked forward to the next adventure.

Mary was a huge sports fan, any sport her grandkids played were at the top of her list, and you could always find her in the stands cheering.  It was no secret that basketball was her favorite and, oh, did she love her Pistons, and never missed a game on television.

Mary is survived by her son Tom (Diane) Dalton, daughter Deanna (Joe) Dalton Green, bonus daughter Patti Mae (Bill) Sandtveit; three siblings grandchildren Buzz (Janessa) Baker, Brandon (Krystal) Baker, Jennica Dalton, Inessa Dalton, Jeremy Cox, K.C. (Darcell) Tanner, Kyle Tanner, Breanne Tanner and Jake Smith.

Great Grandchildren, Damion, Madison, Elizabeth, Aurora, Tristan, Amelia, Aubriegh, Charlee, Ja’Kara, Ja’Cori, Ja’Shaun, Mia, Oaklee, Dawson, and she was anxiously awaiting baby Dalton.

Preceding Mary in death were her parents, her stepfather, Jack Haley, 2 sisters, a daughter Cynthia Baker, son-in- law Keith Baker, her former husband Ray Dalton, and a dear friend George Nichols.

Our hearts are broken, but because of her faith we take comfort knowing this isn’t good bye for good, it’s see you later in heaven.
