
Kevin Eugene Ruettinger, age 59, of Tecumseh, MI, passed away on November 5, 2025, at ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital in Adrian, MI. He was born on April 28, 1966 in Monroe, MI, the son of Larry Dean and the late Carol Jean (Baker) Ruettinger. On May 24, 1997, he was joined in marriage with Vicki Lynn Hottenstein in Tecumseh, MI, and they enjoyed over 35 years together before his passing. After obtaining his journeyman’s license, Kevin worked for over forty years as an electrician in the construction industry. He was a member of the IBEW Local 8 in Rossford, OH.
Kevin was a dedicated Ninjutsu practitioner and he studied with the Grandmaster in Japan. He was very proud of his black belt, which is the highest rank possible. He enjoyed rock climbing and cave exploring, and when inside, he was an avid gamer. Kevin was also very good at leatherworking and making medieval chainmail. He loved and had a special place in his heart for his dogs.
In addition to his wife, Vicki, Kevin is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer (Linda Hiatt) VanEtten of Logansport, IN, and Ashley (Jacob Wright) VanEtten of Jasper, MI; two grandchildren, Mikyla VanEtten and Michael Clendennin; his father, Larry (Wanda) Ruettinger of Newport, MI; his siblings, Kerri (Anthony) Cousino of Newport, MI, Kelly(Tammera) Ruettinger of Monroe, MI, Deanna (Dan) Richards and Kim (Kenny) Daniels, both of Newport, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Carol, and his step-dad Dennis Hazen.
