TECUMSEH — Tecumseh voters have overwhelmingly approved the city’s proposed 2025 Charter, paving the way for an update to how local government operates.
Unofficial results show the charter was adopted with 1,224 yes votes to 304 no votes.
The measure replaces Tecumseh’s existing charter, modernizing language and procedures to reflect current administrative standards and state law. City officials say the revisions were designed to streamline operations and improve transparency in city governance.
The new charter will take effect following certification by the Lenawee County Board of Canvassers and state review.
All results remain unofficial until certification is complete.
