LENAWEE CO. — Hospice of Lenawee is marking Children’s Grief Awareness Month with reminders that young people often grieve differently than adults.

The agency says children may not show sadness on the outside, but still need support and tools to process a loss.

LeAnn Straub, who leads bereavement services for Hospice of Lenawee, says children experience and express grief in their own way:

The agency says early support can help grieving children feel seen, heard, and understood as the holidays approach.
