PALNYRA TWP. — The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office says a small airplane made a precautionary landing in a field south of U.S. 223 in Palmyra Township Friday morning.
Deputies say the single-engine Piper Cherokee Six was flying from Indiana to Toledo Suburban Airport with only the pilot on board when it began to have mechanical issues.
The pilot landed in the field without damage to the plane and was not hurt.
The pilot is a 51-year-old man from Toledo. The Sheriff’s Office is working with the Federal Aviation Administration, which is standard procedure in a precautionary landing.
All further questions are being directed to the FAA.
