MICHIGAN — A new national poll asked more than 3,000 people which graveyard they would be least willing to visit alone at night.
For Michigan, the top three named were Elmwood Cemetery in Detroit, Findlay Cemetery in Ada Township, and Nunica Cemetery in Ottawa County.
Elmwood is the oldest cemetery in Detroit and is often linked to ghost stories. Findlay, sometimes called Fischer Cemetery, is tied to the legend of the “Ada Witch.” Nunica Cemetery is often called “the most haunted” in the state because of repeated reports of lights, voices, and unexplained movement.
Closer to home, people in Lenawee County often point to the “Ghost Trestle” near Adrian as a well-known local haunted site — a railroad bridge tied to a long-told fire and ghost story that still draws curious visitors, especially this time of year.
