LENAWEE CO. — The Michigan State Police Office of School Safety has released three new School Safety Toolkits to help K-12 educators strengthen protocols during America’s Safe Schools Week, Oct. 19-25.

The online toolkits offer step-by-step planning guidance and role-based checklists for school leaders and staff.

The three resources cover: crisis communication planning, emergency preparedness for school events on and off campus, and best practices for investigating student online activity. MSP says the toolkits are designed to reduce confusion, build trust, and support confident responses during critical incidents.

The project is supported by Michigan’s FY19 STOP School Violence grant from the U.S. Department of Justice and administered by MSP. Educators can download all three toolkits now from the MSP Office of School Safety website.
