Jody W. Scharer, age 69 of Adrian, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Toledo Hospital.
He was born January 27, 1956, the only son of Walter and Doloris (Bird) Scharer, and graduated from Adrian High School with the Class of 1974.
Jody’s adventurous spirit took him all over the world for both work and pleasure. He also looked forward to his vacations in Las Vegas. A passionate motorcycle rider, he found freedom on the open road, and was equally proud of his Porsche, fondly known as “The Batmobile”. With his engineer’s mind and creative spirit, Jody enjoyed making custom toys for his grandchildren and others with his 3D printer. Known for his outgoing nature, Jody was a regular at Fricker’s where he met many friends who were like family. He attended New Life Church.
He is survived by his children, Jason Scharer and Jamie (Jared) Williamson; his treasured grandchildren, Dylan and Emily; his best friend, Sheila Aldrich; and his four-legged buddies, Jack and Rucker. He was preceded in death by his sister, Holly Carrico.
A memorial visitation will take place Monday, October 20, 2025, from 2-3:30 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home in Adrian followed by a brief service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
