JACKSON CO. — State Representative Kathy Schmaltz says the new state budget includes over three million dollars for major projects in Jackson County.
The funding supports local landmarks, recreation, and housing for families in need.
Schmaltz says the investment will help restore the Cascades waterfall, build a new family shelter at the Jackson Interfaith Shelter, and improve mountain bike trails at Ella Sharp Park.
The Cascades project will receive one and a half million dollars for repairs and upgrades. Another one million will fund a new family shelter. The remaining seven hundred fifty thousand will go toward redesigning trails and starting a free “Bike Library” for the community.
Schmaltz says each project will improve quality of life and attract more visitors to Jackson County.
