Timothy Edward Norden, age 73, of Clayton, Michigan, passed away early
Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Regency Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio.

Tim was born on March 7, 1952, in Adrian, Michigan, the fourth of six children born to
Gladys (Dickerson) and Thomas Norden. He graduated from Madison High School and
began his long-time career as a foundry worker in 1970 at Bohn Aluminum (later
renamed Hydro Aluminum), where he worked for 39 years until the plant’s closure led to
his retirement. Had it not closed, he would have worked as long as his body permitted.
In the early 1980s, Tim introduced his young family to the LORD and proudly witnessed
most of his children’s baptisms. Though he did not attend church regularly following a
workplace accident that resulted in a below-the-knee amputation, his quiet faith in Jesus
remained strong, and he often looked for ways to share that faith with his children.
On July 13, 2004, Tim married Sharon (Cotter) Ballard, and with their union, he
welcomed her four additional children into his life.

Tim believed in the value of hard work, and self-reliance, and encouraged that ethic in
his four children. After his accident, he found joy in traveling and was proud to have
visited all 48 continental states. He was a longtime member of several veteran and
fraternal organizations, including the VFW, the American Legion Post 97, the Eagles,
and AMVETS Post 1957. He enjoyed camaraderie with his friends and supported
military and veteran causes, often assisting with fundraising efforts alongside his wife.
Tim will be deeply missed by his wife, Sharon, and his children: Timothy “Eric” Norden
(Christina Jasso), Tate (Necia) Norden, Sunshine (Shaun) Plato, and Colt (Amber)
Norden; as well as his stepchildren: Charlene Timar, Christin Terry, Gary (Jennifer)
Hawver, and Greg (Amie) Hawver. He is also survived by many grandchildren and
great-grandchildren; and his siblings: Beverly Gregory, Roger Norden, and Patty Kope;
along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Donald Stevens; his sister, Donna
Jean Moyer; his daughter-in-law, Julie Norden; his son-in-law, John Timar; and his infant
grandson, Ethan Plato.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at
Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian, with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m., officiated by
Pastor Brandon Maybee of Crossroads Community Church. In accordance with Tim’s
wishes, cremation will take place following the service.
