TECUMSEH — At the Tecumseh Board of Education meeting Monday night, members praised a student-led effort to raise awareness about mental health.
During September 19th’s home football game, the Tecumseh High School group Sources of Strength held a halftime demonstration. Students raised their hands in the stadium to show they are facing mental health struggles.
Board members said the moment was powerful and moving, noting that the stadium grew quiet as the students stood together. They also said the demonstration was effective in drawing attention to an issue that is often overlooked.
The board thanked the students for their courage and for creating a strong message of support.
