TECUMSEH — The City of Tecumseh has closed part of South Maumee Street after a reported gas leak.
The closure runs between Chicago Boulevard and Kilbuck Street. Officials say the Tecumseh Fire Department is on scene securing the area, and utility crews are working on repairs.
Residents and businesses within a one-block radius have been directly contacted. The city says anyone who has not been contacted does not need to take further precautions at this time.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the roadway is safe for travel.
The city will share updates once the repairs are complete and the street can reopen.
