
TOLEDO — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened Friday afternoon in Fulton County.
Troopers say it occurred around 1:40 p.m. on State Route 109 near milepost 13 in Pike Township. A northbound Chevy Equinox went left of center and struck a southbound concrete truck.
The driver of the Equinox died at the scene. A passenger was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The truck driver was taken to Fulton County Health Center with moderate injuries.
State Route 109 was closed for about four hours but has since reopened.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by local sheriff’s deputies, fire and EMS crews, and Life Flight. Officials remind drivers to always wear safety belts and to never drive impaired or distracted.
