Jon “Scot” Fox, age 72 of Pittsford, Michigan passed into the loving arms of the Heavenly Father, on September 10, 2025. “Scot” was born July 28, 1953, in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He was the son of Carl Ivan and Pauline “Polly” Fox. After the untimely death of Carl Ivan, “Polly” later married Bernie Conaway.

They have all preceded “Scot” in death.

Jon had a passion for farming and ran “Fox Farms” for 20 years. He also attended college and earned a AA in science. “Scot” loved all things biology. He knew the name of every plant, tree, insect and animal wherever he went. This was fostered by his grandparents who had a large greenhouse. They took Jon and his siblings camping and taught them these things.

Later, Jon joined the local volunteer fire department and trained for Level 2 firefighter.

He continued on by earning his EMT then paramedic license. He became a Haz-Mat instructor as well. He was married and loved his five children very much. “Scot” became a MICU/NICU senior paramedic. He could get an IV in the dark and upside down. He worked for JEMS, which later was bought by Huron Valley Ambulance. This career lasted 26 years.

Health problems began to rear their ugly heads at that point, This continued for many years, with which he and his wife Kelly Fox, managed for 16 years. During this time Jon and Kelly were federalized to a DMAT team and belonged to the CERT team in Hillsdale County, Michigan.

He lived on his little farm with the love of his life, his wife, Kelly. Together they had 10 children, and 11 grandchildren for which Scot felt so blessed. “Scot” loved animals and enjoyed all manner of outside activities including Historical Reenactments. Jon and Kelly also wrote for FrankTalk, a Hillsdale newspaper, and for a brief time had their own newspaper called “Rural News and Views”. They also had for a short time a small General Store in Amish Country Michigan. At the time of his passing, Jon and Kelly had been married for over 20 years.

Something fun was always happening, in spite of health challenges. “Scot” suffered health setbacks this year and after valiant fighting, succumbed and went home to be with the Lord. Jon “Scot” was a very much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is missed greatly and the void and loss his absence has caused is felt by so many.
