
JACK WARNER DAMON, age 88 years of Onsted, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at his home under the wonderful care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was born on June 12, 1937, in Morenci, the son of Paul T. and Veva A. (Warner) Damon.
Jack graduated from Summerfield High School in 1955. He married the love of his life, Bonnie L. LaVoy on December 1, 1956, in Petersburg, MI. She survives. Jack went to work at Merillat’s in Adrian in 1955 and retired in 1999. Jack took great pride in being a Merillat employee. And proud of all their accomplishments. Working for the Merillat’s was not just a job for Jack. Orville, Ruth and Richard and fellow employee’s were family. He adored the Merillat family until his passing. For over 47 years around the holidays Jack donated time as Santa Claus for many families, Merillat’s office and at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home for Associated Charities. He also enjoyed hunting especially for deer with family and in his younger years took many hunting trips out west with his adored friends. Jack and his wife Bonnie travelled many miles with his treasured cousin Pat and Leroy (Butch) Gordon.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Bonnie, two sons, Scott (Tammy) Damon and Timothy (Dana) Damon, 11 grandchildren, Brandon (Kalli) Damon, Paul (Bailey) Damon, Brittany (Quintin) Baker, Brandon (Tiffany) Stewart, Brooke (AJ) Armstrong, Libby (Keith) Brewer, Amelia (Joel) Pizana, Benjamin (Ashley) Damon, Savanna Damon, Gabriel Damon and Alina Underwood, 23 great-grandchildren, Teagen, Jack, Rhett, Willow, Bryce, Asher, Luke, Beckett, Carter, Layton, Brecken, Lexie, Mila, Pieper, Sutton, Cooper, Sage, Alex, Nash, Natalyn, Nylee Blair and Noah, a sister, Cindy (Leon) Tuthill and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great granddaughter, Maevyn.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
