Patrick Cheng, 56, passed away on September 1, 2025. Patrick was born on October 23, 1968 in Ann Arbor, MI, to Alfred Cheng and Wanda (Braun) Petricko. He graduated from Chelsea High School in 1987. He married the love of his life, Doreen, in August 1996 and they went on to have four incredible daughters that filled their home with joy and laughter.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Doreen; his daughters, Hannah (Maddie) Cheng, Aleigha Cheng, Ellie Cheng, and Lydia Cheng; mother, Wanda (Ron) Petricko; father, Alfred Cheng, brothers, Christopher (Teri) Cheng and Martin (Kate) Cheng; second mother, Mabel Dowling; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and people who loved him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell and Leona Braun, Chang Chung, Kaam Ping Cheng, and father in law, Leland Dowling.
Patrick was incredibly skilled in many trades, excelling most in carpentry. However, his true passion was his family. After owning his own business, he became a stay-at-home father to his four daughters. As a stay-at-home dad, he made every day memorable with his endless antics. His many roles included hairstylist, handyman, nail technician, chef, and he was skilled at sharing his knowledge from cooking to cars to home repairs to ensure that his daughters became strong, independent young women.
While spending time with his family was his first love, he also dearly loved riding his motorcycle, camping and being involved in his community. He was a member of the Tecumseh Church of the Nazarene for over 20 years. He was also proud member of the Christian Motorcycle Association where he loved riding for Jesus and recently served as the ministry leader at Celebrate Recovery in Tecumseh. The impact he made on the countless friends he made while doing the things he loved was profound and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Tecumseh Church of Nazarene, 1001 N. Union Street, Tecumseh, MI with Pastor Rob Lewis officiating. A funeral dinner in honor of Patrick will immediately follow at the church.
