ADRIAN — Adrian students facing housing challenges got a boost before the new school year.
The Legacy Arbor service group from Gleaner Life Insurance Society donated more than $2,000 worth of supplies to Adrian High School’s Families in Transition program.
On August 22, employees delivered boxes of personal care items like toothpaste, shampoo, and deodorant, along with binders, pencils, and other school supplies.
The group also provided 60 hooded sweatshirts and 60 gift cards to McDonald’s, each worth $10.
The Families in Transition program supports students who do not have stable housing. The donation helps make sure those students feel ready and cared for during the school year.
Gleaner Life, a nonprofit group founded more than 130 years ago, said helping local students is part of its mission to serve the community.
