Thomas “Tom” Lee Jones, age 88, passed away early Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the Hospice of Lenawee Home surrounded by the love and support of his family.

Tom was born on January 7, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio, the middle child of Albert and Beatrice (Coy) Jones’ three children. He graduated from Adrian High School and went on to attend Michigan State. He was later drafted and served his country in the United States Army.

In 1987, Tom married Julia “Julie” Ann Lane, exchanging vows at both St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. This joyful union combined two families which made for a lot of excitement over the next 38 years. There were many memorable trips to Houghton Lake with family and, of course, being a proud grandfather attending his grandchildren’s school and sporting events.

Tom’s career was in the manufacturing field where he worked at Adrian Chain and Cable, and later Tecumseh Products. His leadership skills and attention to detail were great assets in his role as Senior Manufacturing Engineer. Tom lived his faith and was an active member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church. Tom was extremely social and never met a stranger. He enjoyed quality time with friends, family and neighbors and always had a story to share or some advice to impart. Tom had a strong work ethic and could fix anything. His selfless nature was always present as he made time to help those in need.

In addition to his wife, Julie, Tom will be missed by their daughters, Tressa (James) Grantham, Kelly Darnell, Shayna (Todd) Clark, and Kerry Patton; 9 grandchildren, Tyler, Emma, Cody, and Megan Grantham, Karter Clark, Jessica Daykin, Joshua, Bailey, and Kellen Patton; 1 great-grandchild, Regan Barkel, and sister, Carolyn Jeannie Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bob Jones.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian, with Pastor Brian Keller officiating. Memorial visitation will take place on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee or to the Lenawee Humane Society.
