Former Road Commissioner Stan Wilson Dies

BRITTON Stan Wilson, the recently-retired Chair of the Lenawee County Road Commission, has died at the age of 75.

According to his obituary, Wilson died on Wednesday, August 13th, the same day the Road Commission appointed his successor, Todd Brown.

Wilson was first elected to the Road Commission in 2006, and served for nineteen years until his resignation in June.

In addition to his career as a public servant, Wilson owned and operated Wilson’s Backhoe and Excavation and was a Vietnam war Veteran, where he served on active duty and won numerous medals.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, September 6th at Wilson’s home on Sutton Road in Britton from 4 to 7 pm, with Military Honors at 4:30 pm.
