Alan “Al” Scott Thayer, age 54, of Adrian, Michigan passed away at ProMedica Hickman Hospital on Tuesday morning August 12, 2025, ending his battle with cancer surrounded by family. Al was born on June 19, 1971, to Waneta (Neta) Candella and she proceeded him in death. He is survived by his girlfriend Angela Aeillo, his son, Gage Thayer, his Uncle Victor Brown and Aunt Stephanie Hartley, and his many cousins. Al was employed by Michigan Valley Homes in Brooklyn, Michigan for over 20 years. He enjoyed his trade and took pride in his work. Away from work he spent time perfecting his grilling skills, taking care of his home, family, animals, fishing, hunting and watching sports. Whether you knew Al for a short time or a lifetime, his unforgettable laugh and bold personality are trademarks that endear him too so many. His tough exterior protected the fact that he had a soft heart and if you were lucky enough to be a part of his circle you knew he’d do anything he could to help.
