TECUMESH — The Tecumseh City Council has reviewed plans to design and build new pickleball courts at AJ Smith Park.
During Monday’s meeting, several residents spoke in support of the project but raised concerns about the proposed location near the recreation center.
They questioned whether the area had enough parking, and if the courts would require fees for use if tied to rec center access. Residents also said they prefer outdoor courts that remain free to the public, similar to those in other cities.
The discussion was part of new business on the council’s agenda. No final action was taken on the project.
The proposal calls for design and construction management services to move forward before the courts are built.
